They are motivated to work with the therapist to identify problems, are willing to consider new approaches, and are willing to believe that they can solve problems, enrich relationships, and improve their lives. People often come to therapy when old ways of problem solving are not working for them when faced with a current problem. I work closely with clients facing challenges including but not limited to: Anxiety, Depression, Postpartum Depression, Relationships, Parenting, Medical Issues, Caregivers, as well as ADHD (school/work related).
My experience has shown me that clients are the experts about themselves. Treatment plans are developed together, and I always discuss my thoughts and observations with my clients. I believe that this way, my clients can let me know if we are on the right path!
I work with people throughout the life-cycle. So many factors can contribute to someone needing help, and my family therapy, holistic approach to treatment has proven effective for over 20 years. When appropriate, I work with doctors, schools, and family members to find the most effective treatment.
