My approach to therapy is interactive, collaborative, and reflective. Individuals often seek counseling when they have reached an impasse in life. Problems of depression, anxiety, or negative behaviors frequently reflect a loss of purpose or meaning. Stress and insecurity may affect how one handles day-to-day interpersonal and work situations. I work with individuals to explore their current life issues in the context of their past experiences and help them to develop new ways of being or interacting in relationships.
I am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Also, I am on the faculty of the Institute for Clinical Social Work and the Professional Development Program of the University of Chicago. As a graduate of the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis, I can offer a negotiated fee for psychoanalysis.
Additionally, I have a PhD in Creative Writing and an interest in working with individuals who experience difficulties in their creative expressions. I accept BlueCrossBlueShield PPO and Blue Choice. I am also willing to negotiate a fee for individuals who would like complete confidentiality as to their mental health records.
