My name is Carol Fowlkes, and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) based in Los Angeles, CA seeing clients via Telehealth. I work with adults and specialize in depression, anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD utilizing holistic interventions and cognitive behavior therapy. I have found my approach to be a good fit for individuals currently at an impasse in life and are preparing for change. When change is happening, we oftentimes need to re-assess the tools we have used in the past and check in with our needs. The change we are not prepared for can take the form of anxiety, depression, and stress which impacts our overall functioning.
I believe in working from a foundation of trust and compatibility. My treatment is based on the humanistic approach which focuses on empowering my clients to lead their own journeys with support. In my practice, the focus is on the present and what can be done to improve those experiences based on my client's needs.
My communication style is warm, open, and personable. I pride myself in providing a space that my client identifies as their own, where they can practice being as authentic as needed. I decided to practice therapy because I enjoy seeing individuals overcome challenges and gaining the skills to feel control over their journeys.
