As a trained EMDR therapist, my focus is to help you find relief from many types of psychological distress that impact your daily living. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of psychotherapy that has been empirically tested and proven effective on a variety of psychological issues and all ages. We will meet in a safe, warm, and secure environment to discuss your concerns, develop an individualized care plan designed to meet those concerns, and begin treatment focused on targeting the most important issues. You are supported through the entire process and given tools to assist yourself outside of therapy.
I've worked with a variety of emotional/behavioral issues. While EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is my primary method of treatment, I also have experience and training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy.
Treatment specialization includes Therapy for Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Grief Counseling, Work and Career issues, Stress Management, and Conflict Resolution. In 2013, I formed Lighthouse Counseling Services, Inc. and I have over 20 years of experience working with teens, adults, and geriatrics in the mental health field.
