Hi! My name is Carmi Ruiz and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I'm based in Washington state and licensed in both California and Washington but I'm working statewide with California clients via telehealth. I work with adults and older adults, and I specialize in PTSD, anxiety and depression. My specialty population has historically been military, from active duty to spouse, to Veteran, however I also enjoy working with general population.
I also work primarily with BIPOC clients as I am also BIPOC and can understand unique issues that these clients face. I'm bi-racial, Japanese/Peruvian and have immigrant parents. I'm comfortable treating trauma and I work collaboratively with clients as they work to gain a better understanding of themselves and help them face things they may have avoided.
I'm very personable and calm. I do bring my personality into therapy, and I try to create a comfortable, safe environment in my sessions by being real and honest.
