My name is Carly. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 10 years of experience in behavioral health, and have worked with adolescents and adults experiencing both mental health and substance abuse disorders. I graduated from Binghamton University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and completed an M.S.Ed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at St. John's University.
Our first session will mostly be information gathering. I will ask you not only what brings you in today, but about various parts of your life. I always make sure that our first appointment will feel like a conversation, not an interview.
It is crucial that clients establish a rapport with their therapist in order to see success in treatment. You will find that I have a warm, light, and inviting presence. Treatment will feel like a back and forth (rather than one way) conversation. If you are somebody who prefers feedback throughout your appointments, we may be a good match.
