About
My name is Carlene Shultz and I am a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience as a therapist helping people heal from trauma and the effects of childhood abuse, substance use and co-dependence; navigate life transitions; create and nurture the relationships in their lives (including Self relationship); and develop and strengthen their spritual base. People come to see me with concerns including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship difficulties or emerging awareness of the presence of addictive or abusive patterns in their lives. I help them identify inner gifts, unlocked blocked potential and transform their lives.
My eclectic orientation has an existential focus, humanistiic, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral elements and includes specialized interventions for healing complex trauma (EMDR, Internal Family Systems and Hakomi Integrative Somatics). I believe that the answers lie within you and its my job to help you find, uncover and use them.
I view therapy as a journey of self-discovery, a process of facing and releasing the past, learning to live fully in the present and look to the future with hope and openness to new possibilities. I walk with people as a compassionate guide on their healing journeys
