Do you wish to develop a deeper relationship and connection with your body, breath, and your emotions? I can be a guide and support in your development. Whether you are struggling with fear, loss, grief, anger, trauma, relationship or other issues, a good portion of our exploration together will be internally focused on your felt experience. Deep wisdom and resources reside within you, and we follow together your curiosity about your own experiences. With a conscious presence, usually a slower pace than we are accustomed to, we can begin to explore and understand the meaning of these experiences.
With a Hakomi approach, I will invite you to an intentional and sustained focus of attention, called mindfulness. Some of each session will include talk and dialogue. Likewise, during each session I will invite you to move toward what you feel or sense in the present moment.
It is important to note that this approach is body-oriented, but it is not bodywork in the physical sense. While I bring my knowledge and understanding of the physical body into counseling, Hakomi is a body mind orientation.
