I have practiced psychotherapy with individuals, couples and families since 1985. My practice consists of a rich diversity of people from all walks of life, with whom I seek to provide a supportive relationship for change and growth. It is my privilege to be in a "people-helping" profession and to see the resourcefulness of the human spirit in working through the complexity of life and becoming whole.
Psychotherapy begins in many places -- a life crisis, the loss of a loved one, an unnamed void in life, conflict in a marriage -- and becomes a journey toward healing and meaning. I hope to become "somebody you can talk to" along the way, forging a relationship for problem-solving, better communication and closer personal relationships.
My original training is psychoanalytic, but I use various approaches that seem appropriate for each individual's needs, goals and personality: psychodynamic, interpersonal, systems thinking and brief therapy. I work with other people-helping professionals, religious institutions and insurance providers.
