After 40 years in practice, Dr. Carl Hindy has retired from his full-time practice in Nashua, NH and now maintains a small, focused practice in Exeter, NH. His primary interests are marriage counseling for midlife and older couples, and helping older men and women navigate the challenges and transitions that come with aging, retirement, relationships, family, loss, health concerns, and changing roles in life.
Co-author of the book If This Is Love, Why Do I Feel So Insecure?, Dr. Hindy works with couples seeking to strengthen communication, trust, intimacy, commitment, affection, and emotional connection in the second half of life.
Dr. Hindy has a particular appreciation for couples who want to improve and preserve long-term relationships, including those facing the stresses and adjustments that often emerge as retirement approaches and beyond.
He is a longtime member of the APA, the National Register of Health Service Psychologists, and the New Hampshire Psychological Association.
Treatment is practical, focused, and informed by decades of experience. In retirement, Dr. Hindy works with a limited number of clients and typically provides short-term counseling spanning weeks to months rather than years. He offers flexibility in the frequency, length, and focus of sessions to address the concerns most important to you.
