Almost everyone needs a counselor at sometime during their life. Some are overwhelmed and facing a crisis. Some need information to better understand and work through a problem. Others need help to change behaviors, work on relationships or simply cope with stress. I would love to help. Anxiety, stress, depression, PTSD, obsessions, grief, anger, relationships, marriage, parenting, adjusting to life situations and dealing with events from the past are some areas where I have extensive training and experience. For marriage and marriage preparation, I often help with communication, personality differences and conflict resolution.
Ways of helping include cognitive behavioral therapy, dealing with thoughts and feelings and sometimes much deeper therapy to work through extensive problems. I often incorporate education about the problem providing new ideas and ways of viewing situations. Information and a new perspective are often critical in a different approach.
I have an earned doctorate in psychology and have been in private practice for 26 years. I have travelled much of the world, am acquainted with many other cultures and enjoy working with all people. My faith in God is important in my life, but as a professional I never seek to impose my views on anyone. I care deeply about people and would love to help you.
