You're ready to confront the problems that are holding you back from happiness, unsatisfying relationships, or professional growth. Perhaps you hit rock bottom or have mild issues that need fine-tuning of emotional skills. We'll first clarify your life goals, identify the barriers to achieving them, and learn how deep you need to dig to get what you want. I've developed a scientific method that lets you" take your mental temperature" to see if you are in a normal or dysfunctional state of mind and to pinpoint areas that need improvement. Whatever, the problems, they are a springboard to transformation and growth.

Welcome to The Be Center. We are a telehealth online parent-focused center dedicated to helping parents navigate the challenges of having a child or young adult who is struggling with behavioral and emotional issues. We believe parents need support in knowing WHAT and HOW to cope with, understand, and respond to the challenges that arise when a loved one is struggling with mental health. When parents feel nourished and empowered, they are able to guide their families back to wellness. How do we do this? We support parents in not only the understanding but also the implementation of skills and interventions thought parent coaching.

Committing to change is hard, but continuing to live unsatisfied is harder. How many times have you set your alarm earlier than normal, thinking “Tomorrow’s the day I get it together,” only to hit snooze and end up rushing out the door anyway? How many times have you had the same fight with your partner, or if you’re single, dated the same kind of person you always do? How much longer will you settle for a life you’re not really happy with? It’s one thing to know what you want to change—it’s another to know how to change it. Together, we’ll explore ways you can feel more confident, in control, & closer to the people you care about.

I work with struggling individuals, families, and couples. Being a therapist is not for the faint of heart, yet I find that helping others improve their lives is my calling. I enjoy being that person my clients talk to about anything. My clients enjoy the judgement free zone that therapy with me entails. My approach to psychotherapy is that no matter where you’re starting from, change is possible! Change can cause uncertainty, anxiety, and confusion for many. I help my clients find the courage to start on their road to positive transformation.

People come to therapy for a variety of reasons. Most of the time it's for depression or anxiety. I work with people in the moment, and help them get out of old patterns and narratives, causing these symptoms. As William Faulkner said, "The past is not dead, it's not even past." Helping individuals develop a "new map" for their lives is my goal. The driving force in therapy, and the road to sustainable success, is to see yourself in a world that is just not about you.

Psychotherapy is, most honestly, a very remarkable and often surprising kind of 'conversation.' The distinction being that when we have a 'conversation,' we only know where it will begin, but not where it will end. The 'getting there,' the movement toward 'the end,' is often a thought-provoking, pleasurable, funny, sad, profound experience that changes people in wholly positive ways. When therapist and patient develop a good working relationship, transformative things can happen. My work centers around creating a serious, useful, and private space to begin exploring the depths of what causes you to suffer, or feel misunderstood.

For over 22 years, I've enjoyed helping people to develop strategies to reduce stress/anxiety, depression, and successfully navigate common life issues related to career, life transitions, and grief/loss. As we all are trying to cope with the current crisis, we are having to adjust and find ways to maintain our mental health, relationships, friendships, and health. I offer phone and video (FaceTime & Zoom) sessions until we get out of this crisis and can resume office visits. I have sliding scale rates based on household income. Please contact me for more information. Wishing everyone the very best during these challenging times.

Relationships are hard, conflict is normal, and seeking couples therapy does not mean your relationship is broken. Just like there’s no singular “right way” to be a human, there is no single “right way” to be in a relationship. Decades of romantic comedy films and fairy tales with people who “lived happily ever after” are, quite literally, fiction. Whether you’re seeking individual or couples therapy, Caitlin believes that meaningful change tends to occur when people can shed societal expectations of what they “should” be, in favor of embracing who they are.

I help people who are suffering from depression, chronic disease and PTSD restore health, manage stress and overcome limiting beliefs so they can feel empowered and vibrant again. When one’s authentic self is blocked, mental health issues can form and grow into depression, addiction, anxiety, phobias etc. Hypnosis, somatics and art therapy are some of the powerful modalities I use to help bring balance and union between the conscious and unconscious mind. Through Hypnosomatics we cultivate wellness in the entire personality, that helps people see their true self, rather than who they present to the world.

I’m an IFS therapist and coach dedicated to helping passionate professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders find their aliveness, unlock their full potential, and live with joy and purpose. I work with those among us I call the Walking Wounded. You may thrive in some areas yet you struggle to survive in the psychospiritual dimension of life. You put on a brave face day in and day out while secretly fighting battles with your inner demons. You've ticked off all the boxes and still experience no real joy, freedom, peace, or love. Your insides don’t match your outsides. That's because at the root of the suffering lies unresolved trauma.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
