After retiring from the military with over 21 years in service, I completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Social Work at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. I wanted to help others discover their own potential in living a fulfilling, joyful life. I believe in empowering the whole person through Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and the connection of mind, body, and spirit.

Welcome. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Knoxville, TN. Over the past 12 years I have worked with teens and adults, individuals, groups and families, in wilderness-based programs, schools, and in community agencies. It is my belief that all people possess within themselves the ability to make positive changes in their lives; sometimes they just need help to discover how to do so. My goal is to work alongside you to uncover ways to improve and maintain your mental health, sense of self, and overall well-being. I believe in meeting clients “Where They Are At,” and value and respect the uniqueness of each person.

I earned my PhD from the University of Tennessee, and am a licensed clinical psychologist. I have received specialized training in many areas, including evaluations, hypnosis, trauma recovery, depression, and anxiety, behavioral issues and family therapy. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, and have specific training in the treatment of law enforcement officers and emergency responders. I do a great deal of work with families and children going through divorce. My therapeutic style is generally cognitive-behavioral, but varies from case to case depending on the needs of the client. I believe that everyone deserves to be heard and respected.

With my assistance, clients should be ready to assess their goals and formulate plans to align values and actions with personal goals.
