I am an independent and board certified provider of counseling services. I have worked in mental health since 1997 and received his Masters of Mental Health Counseling from the University of Tennessee in 2000. Prior to my time in private practice I was fortunate to work with a diverse population facing a broad spectrum of clinical issues in the community and area mental health centers. I have done extensive work as a counselor with children and families. I enjoy assisting children, couples, and families find success within themselves while facing mental health issues.

I earned my PhD from the University of Tennessee, and am a licensed clinical psychologist. I have received specialized training in many areas, including evaluations, hypnosis, trauma recovery, depression, and anxiety, behavioral issues and family therapy. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, and have specific training in the treatment of law enforcement officers and emergency responders. I do a great deal of work with families and children going through divorce. My therapeutic style is generally cognitive-behavioral, but varies from case to case depending on the needs of the client. I believe that everyone deserves to be heard and respected.

I enjoy working with people from all walks of life, encouraging them and giving them hope. I believe in balanced living and looking at how issues are affecting us emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. I believe in looking at things from a Christian Worldview but work with people from all viewpoints. I used to work in the corporate world so can identify with people from all walks of life and many different life experiences. I started counseling individuals in Florida as an intern many years ago. Graduated in 1997 and am licensed both in Florida and Tennessee. My family moved to Tennessee 16 years ago, we love Tennessee.

As a clinical counselor and pastor I value creating space for intentional listening to discover and discern how personal uniqueness can find expression within the contours of life. I work collaboratively with individuals, families and adolescents to grow awareness around the stories we tell ourselves. Sometimes these are strong, positively thick stories, and I enjoy celebrating progression with another when this occurs. More often than not in counseling, I find that our normal human experiences bring with them the challenge of embracing life as it actually is.

During our lifetime, we humans go through many life transitions. Helping women, couples, children, and teens succeed through life's many demands is my focus and passion.Working with women who are experiencing a life transition is one of my primary strengths. The second area of focus within my practice is the couple's relationship. My focus with couples is working on communication, conflict resolution, relationship strengthening, and emotional attunement. The third strength of my practice lies in the counseling of children and teens. For children, sessions involve interactive play therapy techniques that address anxiety, depression, and self-esteem.

Life is filled with many different seasons. Some of those seasons can be messy, stressful, confusing, or exhausting. When we walk through difficult seasons, sometimes we need someone walking alongside us. My personal and professional experiences have led me to systemic view of whole-body health, meaning that physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health are deeply intertwined.
