I am a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in working with children and families who have experienced trauma or are facing challenges and need some help to navigate the future. I have over 30 years working with children in the school setting, home based treatment and in a clinical office setting. My approach to counseling is to establish a trust based relationship where acceptance, honesty and collaboration help lead the client on the path to healing.
A passion of mine is working with children who are from "hard places" and have experienced trauma in their lives. I specialize in working with children in adoptive situations, children with attachment/relational challenges and people who are looking to improve the quality of their relationships.
I utilize treatment techniques specific to the client's needs. Included but not limited to my eclectic style is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Mindfulness, Attachment based treatment and play therapy.
