St. John the Baptist Recovery Outreach Center, a Ministry of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland, was established to aid personal struggling with addiction to drugs and alcohol. We collaborate extensively with other community agencies, hospitals, residential programs, and sober living to provide barrier removal and access to treatment services for clients seeking recovery. We take a holistic approach to treatment, combining both substance use and mental health services.

Dr. Shelton is a clinical psychologist, born and raised in the Mahoning Valley. He has experience working in a variety of settings, including community mental health, behavioral schools, college counseling, outpatient clinics, inpatient hospitals and corrections. He enjoys working with a wide range of patient populations of all ages and demographics, providing individual, family, and couples psychotherapy. Over the course of his career, Dr. Shelton has worked with patients struggling with a multitude of concerns, including anxiety, depression, identity concerns, behavioral problems, schizophrenia, personality disorders and more.

I specialize in EMDR Therapy and Christian (integrated) counseling. I have experience in helping clients with Trauma (acute/Chronic/complex), stress and anxiety, Narcissistic Abuse, Premarital/marital/relationship issues, chronic pain, depression, and most mental health conditions.
