I am a cause-oriented, loyal defender and advocate for those in need, striving to cultivate genuine relationships through sincere empathy. Within my work, I have counseled and supported many individuals and client units with various difficulties; grief, loss, substance use, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship/family conflicts, career changes.

We all experience pain--it’s normal. A lot can unsettle us as humans--feelings of anxiety and depression; career and identity development; making meaning of unpleasant thoughts, feelings, sensations, and experiences; and navigating the balance between chaos and control, freedom and responsibility, connectedness and differentiation, action and paralysis. It's no wonder life feels difficult so much of the time! I'm passionate about helping people become more grounded and accepting of themselves as they grapple with these hazards of being human.

Are you a young adult woman experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, and even trauma? Self-discovery and creating/finding identity are goals I work best with. In my most recent job, I have found that domestic violence survivors and women who experience issues specific to being a woman have piqued my interest. As a therapist, the most rewarding thing is to guide women toward embracing themselves for who they are, heal past wounds, and empower them to live fully and authentically. I believe I have been given a purpose in this world to serve others, and that's what I was created to do.

Melinda “Mindy” Sponseller is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor LPCC) in Ohio and Kentucky with over 20 years experience working in the mental health field in some capacity, including therapy since 2006. Mindy has worked in a variety of settings including in-home, schools, private practice, and community mental health facilities assisting individuals overcome and deal with life's challenges. Her scope of practice includes general mental health issues (anxiety, depression, etc.), relationship issues, life transitions, work/life balance, career, grief, anger management, and more.
