I have been working in the mental health and social service field for over 20 years. In that time, I have had the pleasure of working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I am passionate about helping others in finding peace and happiness within themselves and their relationships. I take a client centered approach and come from a place of compassion in building a strong trusting client-therapist relationship. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, mood disorders, life transitions, challenges with life stressors, work and school issues, codependency, and family/relationship issues.

I have experience working with a variety of different age ranges and various presenting issues. I have extensive experience treating depressive disorders, anxiety, social anxiety, autism spectrum, anger, and personality disorders. Most people I have treated want to be able to manage their symptoms, realize their potential, and live their best lives. I believe that my job as a therapist is to provide them the tools they need in order to succeed in symptom management. I also believe in helping clients with empowerment and encouragement so that they can truly see how special they are and what purpose they serve by being in this world.

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and also offer life coaching and energy therapies. I have specialties working with adolescents and young adults, though enjoy adults at all ages. I have specialized training in the LGBTQ population and much of my passion is working with anxiety and self-confidence. Something I enjoy helping people with is coming out of definition and conclusion about who they are or what their life has to be. Instead of looking for what's wrong with you, I much prefer to ask the question, "What's right about you?" and how can you use to that to create the life you can't wait to get out of bed for every morning?

Often, there are mental health complications that arise during major life transitions such as relationship and career changes, marriage, divorce, pregnancy and birth. I enjoy working with people during these difficult and stressful periods. I believe in creating a safe and comfortable space for clients as they confront challenges in life. I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Illinois and earned a Master's degree in Social Work at the University of Chicago. I have worked in a variety of mental health organizations and have completed advanced certification and training in perinatal mood disorders.

I have over 20 years of experience with a special focus on working with depression, anxiety, couples, family difficulties, career counseling, college planning, and work-related problems. I am a certified Cook County divorce mediator and trauma professional. Also, I specialize in conducting cognitive impairment tests and evaluations for older people regarding decision-making capacity and advance directives such as the living will, medical power of attorney, and Do Not Resuscitate orders(DNR).

When therapy is most meaningful, it is most often the result of a strong and unique relationship between the client and the therapist. In order for such a relationship to develop, I take my time in getting to know my clients in an organic and natural manner. During early sessions, I will ask questions as necessary in order to get to know the person behind the client, but I work hard to get to know who people are on their own terms, and in their own time. Often clients will begin therapy with a pressing concern, and through the process of talking will uncover other concerns they were not aware were impacting life enjoyment.

Through the recognition of new self-awareness, clients will work towards their goals through her directive and active guidance.

With nearly a decade of experience as a therapist I can say that the most rewarding aspect of my job is seeing people become “unstuck” in their lives. At some point or another, we have all found ourselves doing, thinking, or feeling things that seem to do us more harm than good. I want to help you examine these things, and get to the “why” behind them—because that is where healing can begin. I graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana- Champaign, Summa Cum Laude, and went on to complete my Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at Wheaton College (IL).
