I am accepting new clients at this time. My career in Social Work has instilled in me a compassion to work with those most marginalized among us. As I have found purpose in my path I want to help others find similarly meaning and purpose which leads to deeper fulfillment. I provide guidance and support during stressful life transitions while discovering your truest identity and desire. I want to help you transform from feeling stuck into finding meaning and mission. I work with helping you find your calling! I also provide relationship counseling based on the Gottman Methodology.

In working with my clients, we explore what holds meaning, what patterns/habits work and no longer work in their life as well as who/what helps them create balance and motivation. When clients find that some of their reactions and emotional responses are no longer having the same effect, we work together to allow their authentic self to take initiative and risks as they engage in relationships with a more healthy, centered, and intentional stance. I value and welcome my clients’ spiritual journey and faith background and the variety of practices that aid in healing and restoring integration and connection in our work together.

Therapy is a healthy resource. Everyone needs an objective, non-judgmental person to talk with in a confidential and warm environment. Sometimes you feel something is not quite right, but you can't put your finger on it. Other times, you know exactly what it is. Either way, telling your story can help figure things out by identifying your patterns of thought, behavior and emotions. Are any of them getting in the way? Together we discover the obstacles to achieving a stronger sense of well-being. Most importantly, we figure out how you can remove obstacles to leading a happier, more authentic life.

My belief is that effective counseling develops from establishing a collaborative relationship with clients, as they are the experts in their lives. Through psychodynamic therapy individuals gain a self-awareness and understanding of the influence of their past on present circumstances, and enables individuals to explore unresolved conflicts and symptoms that arise from past dysfunctional relationships and manifest themselves in current issues going in their lives. My belief is that people want to be healthy and happy and sometimes just do not know where to start.

As a therapist, I strive to ensure that the largest influence on your life story is your genuine self, not judgment, worry, fear, or external entities. To do this, I help you: identify what has held you down or is holding you back, discard unnecessary judgment, and leave behind what no longer serves you, so that you can embrace positive change.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who specializes in empowerment, helping folks overcome obstacles and live their best life. My approach is strengths based, solution focused and action oriented, to work together to help make sustainable positive changes in peoples' lives. The crux of my approach is simple, but versatile: I use anything and everything available to make breakthroughs possible. We all do better with an expansive toolkit. EMDR for "stuckness" / trauma and Gottman methods for couples to repair & connect. (Well worth YouTubing either for a sense of them.) Once we understand each other and you are insight-equipped, we'll put insight into action. But in ways that feel authentic to your personal experience of things. Clients often report that my approachable, humorous, "very human" style makes therapy a much more effective experience even when exploring difficult content.

Even when life is seemingly going well, our thoughts and feelings can make our days and nights a struggle. Being a therapist is a huge responsibility that I do not take lightly. I know that being vulnerable in therapy can be a challenge. The change process can also be difficult. Having said that, I do this work because I have seen change and healing happen throughout my career. Before this process can begin, it is useful to know the underlying contributing factors to the problem (s); as those factors should influence therapy. It can be difficult to change something that you do not understand.

We solely see first responders, ER staff, and veterans at the FRWC. Being a former Chicago Police Officer for 13 years, I understand the unique needs of first responders and developed the center to help those who protect us. We see first responders due to trauma, crisis, PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, job-related stress, suicide, etc. We also understand how there are concerns about engaging in therapy services and protecting your job. We ensure that you will have privacy and confidentiality. We have a separate entrance and exit to maintain confidentiality.
