Hi there! I'm a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Psychologist based in Champaign, Illinois committed to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and discover their inner strengths. I'm passionate about helping first-generation college students, young professionals, and adults from culturally diverse backgrounds achieve their personal, relational, academic, and career goals. I have 15-years of specialization helping individuals with issues related to depression, anxiety, stress/panic, trauma, relationship issues, college stressors, career issues, life transitions, and cultural identity concerns.

Change is a major source of stress and life is full of change. I believe one of the most helpful applications of therapy is to help clients deal with the changes they experience and incorporate them into their lives-children growing up and leaving home (the client might be the parent or the child), relationship changes, job-related change, dealing with death, or any other changes that challenge you. I offer a safe place to express your feelings about the changes in your life and strive to be a non-judgmental companion through that process.

We strive for happiness and avoid discomfort. I am passionate about helping you with your discomfort using various theraputic methods to find your happier place. Working in a private practice allows me to utilize many techniques of counseling and psychotherapy. Clinically, I adapt a treatment approach based on client goals or goals we set together. I believe one's life story as it relates to his or her behavior is a fascinating self-exploration exercise that everyone should have the chance to experience - especially given the fact that understanding self is imperative to acceptance and/or change.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with a Masters Degree from the University of Illinois Springfield. I started my field work as an addiction counselor in outpatient and residential settings. I have great knowledge and expertise working with addictions and recovery, but also specialize in treating ADHD, especially in adults. Other areas of experience include anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, couples therapy, and family therapy. I am a certified Yoga Instructor, and often use yoga as a therapeutic modality in my sessions.

Life is full of challenges. And sometimes we all need support. I have 2 passions; Autism and Women's Issues. I recognized many years ago that services for people with high functioning autism are lacking in our nation. They tend to fall in the cracks because people believe they don't need support. People with high functioning autism do need support, but that support needs to be uniquely designed for them. That's where I come in. My second passion, Women's Issues, has been some of my most meaningful work. Women face unique challenges in our culture, and it helps to have a therapist that understands these issues.
