I understand that life can at times be challenging, change can be destabilizing, and loss will cause pain. Through these life transitions one may at times need a safe space to cultivate hope and grow. I employ evidence based practices, cultural sensitivity and awareness to assist you in achieving your therapeutic goals.

I have experience in working with adults and adolescents that have experienced trauma and grief. Majority of the clients I have worked with are uncomfortable with their daily life and are looking to process their past and find a way to move forward.

My approach combines my education, training, and own life experience to work with individuals collaboratively, with a focus on how to meaningfully and healthfully navigate life events. I start by developing a unique and genuine therapeutic relationship with my clients which facilitates healing and understanding. While trained as a generalist to provide treatment for a variety of mental health concerns across the lifespan, my clinical specialties include working with trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship/family distress, life transitions, grief/loss, stress mgmt, college students, young adults, and autism spectrum/Asperger's.

Andrew is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Chicago area, specializing in Substance Abuse and Marital/Relationship concerns. As a behavioral based therapist, he focuses on motivational issues using techniques from Cognitive as well as Dialectical Behavioral therapy models. Through his years of experience in the field of substance abuse counseling, Andrew helps clients conquer matters ranging from relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, motivational issues, substance abuse concerns, as well as past trauma all while focusing on lifestyle balance as a key component of his approach.

I often work with busy professionals and college students-or anyone suffering from trauma, relationship issues, low self-esteem, depression, stress, and anxiety. I am non-judgmental and professional, although when appropriate, I've been known to crack a joke because sometimes laughter really is the best medicine.

In my work as Lead Middle School Social Worker, I worked hard to foster a sense of worth and meaning in young adults at a pivotal age. I always strive to see things through the lens of my clients and help you build the skills necessary to grow.
