My practice involves Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and related disorders as well as other empirically supported treatments such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Habit Reversal Training for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors. I work with children, adolescents and adults to overcome various anxieties using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), mindfulness, and compassion-focused therapy. I am dedicated to helping others live with reduced anxiety and better enjoy their daily lives. I do this through compassion, acceptance, and especially humor.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience working with individuals, couples and families facing the challenges life presents when dealing with change and transition. Psychotherapy offers a safe place to explore difficult emotions, gain new perspective and heal from painful losses. My approach combines elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, family systems theory, narrative therapy and psychodynamics. I place great emphasis on the therapeutic relationship with my clients and believe that the right personal "fit" is crucial to a successful therapeutic relationship and, in turn, to facilitating greater self-awareness and personal growth.

Dr. Jessica Towsky is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Illinois. She earned both her Masters of Arts (M.A.) and Doctor of Psychology Degrees (Psy.D.) from the APA-Accredited Clinical Psychology program at Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois. She earned her Bachelors of Arts Degree (B.A.) from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Towsky completed a clinical internship at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and a postdoctoral fellowship at Kaiser Permanente in San Rafael, California.

Because I am young, I can relate to your issues but bring the wisdom of years in clinical practice and the understanding of the importance of mind/body approaches to healing and health.

Alice Robles-Shanahan is a psychotherapist and co-founder of Cor- Counseling Chicago whose interests include anxiety, mood disorders, grief, trauma recovery, cultural identity, family/interpersonal conflict and life transitions. Alice established her therapeutic approach through her experience in providing long-term and short-term individual, group and family therapy to adolescents and adults through distinct phases of life. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults from a variety of cultural backgrounds. While I tend conceptualize from a psychodynamic perspective, my treatment tends towards a more integrative model. I often use treatment techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused treatment. I believe that one theory alone is not necessarily going to apply to every individual from a multitude of cultures and backgrounds.

If you are wondering whether you (or your child) have an emotional, learning, or behavioral disorder, such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Depression, PTSD, OCD, Bipolar, or Borderline, then psychological testing is a helpful research-based way to get to the "root" of complex problems. Often, the results can help you obtain accommodations in school/college (e.g., IEP, 504 Plan, ADA). Testing can also be useful if you feel "stuck" in psychotherapy or with medications, and is a great way to learn about your emotions, thoughts, personality, career interests, reasoning skills, and strengths.
