As a former lawyer turned therapist who has lived in 6 states, I'm no stranger to the winding path life takes us down, and I often connect with high stress business professionals struggling with the demands of the field and folks who are navigating career or other life changes. I’ve had success helping people who are struggling with executive functioning and who may need ADHD coaching. As a non-judgmental and queer therapist, I also feel especially equipped to help queer clients or clients looking to explore their sexuality in a safe space.

Even when life is seemingly going well, our thoughts and feelings can make our days and nights a struggle. Living with mental illness or going through a challenging time can be like there is an ever-looming cloud blocking us from feeling the sun. It is my belief that therapy can help us see and feel the light again. Depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral or personality issues, and abuse & trauma can make us feel like we’re alone and without hope. Therapy can be a place where you don’t have to go through life’s struggles alone and get to learn coping strategies and solutions.

I am an Army Veteran and LCPC with a certification as a national certified counselor through the NBCC and have accumulated over 6 years of direct individual/group practice as a licensed counselor. Overall, my experience spans over 10 years working as a crisis, substance use, and mental health counselor in the field. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, career challenges, and substance use. I also have assisted many clients who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

Jonah’s approach to therapy is founded on the principle of self-compassion. He firmly believes that building a foundation of self-love and understanding is the first step toward healing and growth. Jonah uses humanistic, cognitive behavioral, and dialectical behavioral therapies to help individuals in fostering self-acceptance, developing coping skills, and building resilience. Jonah helps people to identify their unique strengths to address the ongoing challenges they face.

As a Hispanic/Latina Mental Health Professional who is also a first-generation Mexican-American, I understand the importance of a person's need to get culturally informed emotional support. It is essential for me to understand where you come from and provide you with the best therapy care to achieve your goals because I believe it significantly improves symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, and more. Additionally, my work in mental health has brought me to various environments where I've seen the impact of not having specialized support while struggling with diverse emotional needs.
