Welcome! We provide traditional and holistic healing for mind, body & spirit health. We work with individuals, couples, families & groups age 5 and up. The facility is located on a main street with free parking. This is a private practice with a private waiting room in a very comfortable & soothing setting. Look for the yellow house with raspberry trim. Hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. When you call, we will do a brief intake, verify your insurance benefits & schedule your first appointment. We do not have a waiting list and can schedule your first appointment within the same week.

Dr. Oksoon Cho is the founder of the Chicago Mental Health Institute (CMHI) and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, a counselor educator, and clinical supervisor. Her approach is integrative with Multicultural Counseling, Client-Centered, CBT, Mindfulness, Trauma-Focused, EMDR, Strength-Based, and play therapy. Nina is a seasoned clinician with an MA in Mental Health & Community Counseling specializing in trauma recovery, with over 10 years in the field Her work includes; crisis and trauma intervention with adolescents, young adults, couples and families as well as providing counseling to individuals who are struggling with life complications that result in depression, anxiety, and stress. Nina has extensive experience collaborating with other entities such as Social Services, Group Therapeutic Programs, Psychiatrists, and other community providers.Nina is passionate in supporting her community and individuals of all walks of life.

My experience and educational background are directly related and have provided me with a well-rounded background in Therapy. I am a Military veteran with 30 plus years of experience working with patients in psychiatric hospitals, state mental health facilities, Illinois Department of Corrections, and in private practice. I am currently licensed to practice in Illinois, Kansas and Georgia. I also provide Tele-health service to Military members overseas (OCONUS).

Much of my training has been centered in client-centered theory and I also have specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). In addition to being traditionally trained, I also incorporate​ a holistic, integrated approach toward psychotherapy which includes aspects of mindfulness and Eastern philosophy, providing individual, family and couples therapy as well as intervention work.
