I take a person-centered approach to counseling, while utilizing tools from many other types of therapies. I feel it is important to get to the root of an issue by figuring out where it began, process through it to find healing and acceptance, and then use tools and techniques to make specific changes in thoughts and behaviors. I believe setting goals helps to track progress and can be a great motivator. I see counseling as a holistic process and integrate spiritual, physical, & mental aspects into the process, as you feel comfortable.

When you feel stuck, out of sorts, things just aren't going well, some coaching or therapy might help you. You may feel anxious, sad, angry, annoyed-- perhaps at the bottom of your "stuckness". A special tool I share is EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique. This quickly and easily releases specific negative feelings. In live or zoom sessions, she utilizes cognitive behavioral and integrative (mindful) therapies to restore balance and support you on your life journey. As a licensed psychotherapist, certified EMDR, addiction, yoga, and Gottman (Level 3) trained therapist, and creator of the Fun(TM) program, Dr. Kathy unpacks tools to design a plan of action targeted to relieve suffering. She also assists families with the Marchman Act or conducts interventions when loved ones refuse help.

Physical, sexual and mental abuse as well trauma history, domestic violence, communication and relationship improvement, problems arising from pornography, and depression are a some topics that I have focused my practice on. Success in therapy is ultimately the result of the collaboration of you and I - the client and the therapist. There are no set number of sessions. You are a unique individual and you work at your own pace. I am committed to working with your needs and timetables.
