I’m Kathryn Gutierrez, Ph.D., clinical psychologist, educator, and artist specializing in the art of healing. I focus on patients who grapple with the weight of chronic pain, dance with the shadows of anxiety and depression, and bear the scars of trauma. I typically treat adults, who often have a physical injury followed by a sequela of chronic pain. Additionally I treat patients who are struggling with anxiety and depression.

Psychotherapy is essentially a collaborative process where the feedback between the therapist and the person is without any sense of judgement or agenda.Therapy is about what works from the perspective of each person's unique personal experience. It allows for a fluid perspective to be understood and worked through. I am an active participant, providing descriptions along with mutually agreed upon insights and interpretations. I believe that the essential process within oneself and in a therapeutic setting should always contain compassion, understanding, respect and empathy. The goal is to develop a positive relationship with oneself and with others.

For 25 years I have been doing a specific therapy that is structured with a beginning, middle, and end. It is healing from emotional immaturity due to childhood trauma. It is deep rooted therapy with actual tools and healing of wounds that stop us from living to full potential . Many have referred to it as the most transformative therapy that leads to generations of healing. Ideal client is high functioning with a need to recover from love addiction or love avoidance.
