Sara’s passion and focus in counseling is grief and loss. She is an activate member of the Association of Death Education and Counseling and is a firm believer that grief is a common experience that binds us together in life. Sara has worked with a wide array of populations from geriatric, college students, homeless, perinatal loss, and adolescents.

I have a decade of professional experience working in schools, agencies, and private practice as a licensed professional counselor. I currently work with adults, adolescents, children, infants and groups. I have a Masters and an Educational Specialist degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I work with a wide variety of emotional, behavioral, and mental health disorders with a focus on trauma.

Bio video on my website! In 2011, I graduated from seminary & worked as a youth pastor for 5 years. From the vantage point of a pastor, I saw the need for good, quality, professional therapy in people's lives. When you walk through the therapist’s door, you expect to be given the tools you need to accomplish change. Good therapy is more than “What do you want to talk about today?” You need to work with a therapist who has the right tools to dig deep and do some heavy lifting, and that is what I offer.

We all have times that events take a toll on us mentally and emotionally. In some aspect we may try to push them down or avoid the existence of the issue. Maybe we have associations of weakness or feelings of inadequacy if we acknowledge those feelings or issues. I’m an LPC, CFRC with 12 years previous experience as an EMT and Volunteer Firefighter. I am EMDR level 1 & 2 trained for trauma and PTSD therapy. Beyond responder therapy, I have experience with sexual abuse, codependency work, healing the inner child, and promoting your own self-worth.

I can think of no greater responsibility than keeping someone’s secrets or any greater joy than holding someone’s hand while they do the difficult work of changing their lives. I became a therapist because I believe in our ability to CHANGE. The ability to change is one of our greatest gifts and abilities, but in life sometimes we get STUCK. Stuck in bad relationships, stuck in dead-end jobs, or stuck in patterns of behavior that keep us miserable and defeated. My job and my joy is to help you get UN-stuck.

I am happy to share that I have recently founded Central Arkansas Testing & Therapy Center. You could consider me local to the central Arkansas area. I enjoy working with the community where I pretty much grew up. After graduating from UCA in 2009, I completed a master of arts degree in clinical psychology from Forest Institute in 2012. Maylynn is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She completed her degree at ASU in 2009. She has worked in many different settings and with different diagnoses. Maylynn has experience practicing in inpatient, community mental health, non-profits, schools, and private practice.
