I practice from a comprehensive orientation. I write about therapy and offer those resources as support to my clients. My clients know that I am not just delivering therapy, but researching around the latest developments, ways to help them, and the potentials of resourcing them for when they are long done with counseling.
I don't believe therapists need to hide behind the veil of a sterile, stoic, or distant archetypal images. I teach masters and doctoral student counselors to embrace the concept of advantageous "disclosure" when needed, which is truly about “being real” rather than hiding behind stereotypes.
