My goal is to help others understand who they are and the importance of their individuality during multiple stages in their life. I think that it is important to understand who we are in order to understand how we will approach challenges and success that may arise. You will find that I am a good listener and easygoing. I specialize in cognitive-behavioral therapy and can assist with behavior modification. I am to provide my clients with the tools to help them be successful outside of our sessions.

I have been working in the mental health and social service field for over 20 years. In that time, I have had the pleasure of working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I am passionate about helping others in finding peace and happiness within themselves and their relationships. I take a client centered approach and come from a place of compassion in building a strong trusting client-therapist relationship. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, mood disorders, life transitions, challenges with life stressors, work and school issues, codependency, and family/relationship issues.

I work with a number of clients clients including adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Several issues I feel comfortable working with include anxiety, depression, stress management, grief issues, adjustment and change issues, Bipolar Disorders, working through past trauma, issues with self-injury, suicidal ideation, sexual/verbal/emotional/physical abuse issues, self-esteem/self-worth issues, bullying, communication issues, sexual or intimacy struggles. I specialize in working with the LGBTQIA community and other gender and sexually diverse populations.

I believe the most significant element of successful therapy is the genuine bond between the client and therapist. My approach to therapy is interactive, nonjudgmental, and empathic. I strive to create a warm and nurturing environment so you feel comfortable to communicate the challenges you face in your life. My goal is to help you better understand your relationship with your innermost self, your needs and how the patterns of your choices affect your life. I have 15 years of experience in assessing, treating, and advocating for people with emotional difficulties and feel strongly that each individual can make positive strides toward mental wellness with the proper, gentle approach. I also believe that the majority of treatment success stems from the therapeutic relationship built in a compassionate, trusting, and safe environment where clients feel comfortable to explore and resolve both short and long-term life struggles.

I work primarily with adolescents (ages 10-25), marriages, and men's issues. I currently supervise a team of therapists through Unbroken Family Counseling. I work within this team and, when necessary, work with schools, psychiatrists, and other community resources to help my clients. My ideal client is a teen who doesn't think he/she needs counseling, a marriage that is on the rocks, or a guy dealing with guy stuff (guys know what I'm talking about).
