Hello. I’m Jean Mach, a Licensed Professional Counselor. For thirty years I have worked with adolescents (13 and older), adults, and families to facilitate personal growth, self awareness, and improved interpersonal functioning. In my experience the collaborative therapeutic relationship, a partnership between client and therapist, is the basic foundation for promoting change. The therapeutic goals of each client determine which therapeutic approach (or what combination of approaches) is more helpful.
I use a Person Centered approach to assist clients toward their goals. With a Family Systems orientation and the teachings of mindfulness from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, I guide individuals and families toward shifts in their thinking: Understanding of self and others improves; personal strengths and problem-solving abilities develop.
