I support people at the intersection of medical health challenges and mental wellness. I also work with individuals, couples and families in managing work stress, anxiety, guilt, and shame. Collaborating with a Therapist in an honest and brave way may give you the skills and tools to be with what is difficult right now in order to take the next few steps forward.
My work emphasizes mind/body awareness to facilitate healing. I've worked with clients who are completely new to therapy and those who have tried working with different therapists.
I have a background in medical social work, advocacy, and training. I'm a career changer, so I know what it's like to work in a variety of cultures and organizations. In therapy, I talk about the flight/fight/freeze response and navigating to nervous system safety, how to stop thought spiraling and get unstuck, and how to name and allow emotions.
I use a variety of evidence-based practices with a trauma informed lens. I teach mindfulness techniques with some clients. For most clients, therapy is not long-term. It is a safe space to learn new skills and move on.
