Candice understands that developing and maintaining healthy relationships can be difficult, especially when having experienced relational trauma in the past. She helps, adults, teens and children alike work through emotional, behavioral, and social challenges in order to be able to feel safe in relationships. She brings a compassionate and kind atmosphere that helps people feel comfortable to open up, reprocess disturbing memories, and increase self-esteem. She strives to create hope and healing.
Candice main modality of therapy is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. She also incorporates other evidence-based modalities, including but not limited to, (IFS) Internal Family Systems Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy, motivational interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and person-centered therapy.
Candice believes that people can heal from psychological trauma just as the body can recover from physical trauma. Candice strives to help clients be able to access and process traumatic memories and other adverse life experiences to bring these to an adaptive resolution, relieve distress, and reformulate negative beliefs.
