I work with individuals, couples and families, (adolescents, adults, medicare seniors and persons with disabilities) who feel disconnected from themselves, their emotions, their relationships, bodies, life purpose, or higher power. This may be because of an addiction, a personality disorder, relationship distress, a developmental or neurological disorder, depression, anxiety or a host of other issues. Christina enjoys working with individuals, couples and families helping support them in making changes they want to make. She has her B.A. in Sociology and Diversity Studies from SCSU and her M.S. in MHC from Walden University. She is an LPCC, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the State of MN. Christina has worked 10 years in clinical counseling. She has 24 additional years working with children, and families with services that are person-centered, strength-based and therapeutic. She has worked in foster and long-term residential based programs, as well as crisis, substance abuse treatment, vocational and education areas.

When it comes to therapy, I know it takes a lot of courage and vulnerability to find the "right" therapist. It is an investment in time, energy and resources, so making it worthwhile is important. My approach is validating as well as direct. My clients have said that I get to the root of their situations quickly and provide clear ideas of how to cope differently. I am a skills-oriented therapist who has many ideas and strategies for working toward your goals.

I've worked with people of all ages across the lifespan. Throughout my career I have worked with people of all ages managing experiences of depression, anxiety, addiction, technology, trauma, and abuse. I am "geek" and LBGTQ+ friendly and have experience with people from diverse cultural, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. I also have extensive experience working with people and families managing chronic illness, hospice and palliative care, and end of life decisions. With affirmation, practical education, and clinical guidance, I help individuals gain personal insights, nurture relationships, and manage difficulties in their lives.

Our practice specializes in supporting individuals who are at a crossroads in their lives, in particular as it relates to navigating building a family or experiencing a difficult trauma. We have folks trained in perinatal mental health, EMDR, AIR network and family therapy to support you and your loved ones. We find that there is no greater gift we can give others than to walk along side you in your most difficult moments. After 45 years of experience in providing therapy, I have learned many wise approaches to change that seem to help my clients. Throughout these years of providing empathetic, energetic, thoughtful care to my clients, I have also personally seen a lot of change. At the time of my graduate degree in clinical social work from Tulane University in 1974 the therapy world was all about psychodynamic therapy. I always appreciate that classical training, but have also evolved to include a more cutting-edge, holistic, client centered approach.
