I have been in social work for 20 years, working with many different populations with a myriad of struggles and issues. I enjoy working with children of all ages struggling with behavior issues, anxiety, and depression. I also work with adults struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. When deciding on a plan of treatment, I consider what the client wants, what their life experience is, and what my experience is to identify the best fit for each individual.
I will work with you using your strengths on your symptoms to improve your emotional wellbeing. If you struggle with substance abuse, I will work with you towards change and stability. Trauma impacts all aspects of our daily lives, and I will work with you to relieve those effects on your mental health.
I also am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to work through stressful and traumatic life events. This can also be used to treat other issues that you may struggle with. I am comfortable using other modalities, and will assess what you may need and what you may be comfortable with to identify a plan of treatment.
