How often does the phrase "Get it together" pop into your head? If you're like me, pretty often! But how often do you stop to think about what "getting it together" would actually mean? What steps would you need to take in order to get to that "together" life? I imagine that you're here because the idea of getting it together appeals to you, and you're tired of feeling unhappy and stuck. Well, maybe "get it together" just means that it's finally time to to take a step in a new direction. Honestly, therapy can help.

Are you often feeling overwhelmed, depressed, or anxious? Are you struggling with relationship issues, low self-esteem, trauma, grief, or stress? Have you realized you are relying on food to change how you're feeling? If so, food has become your crutch and it's no different than using alcohol, drugs, or video gaming to numb, distract, and avoid dealing with the real issue. And just like any other crutch, addiction or distraction, food will not solve the underlying problem. I am here to help you uncover the underlying issue, heal the hurt, restore balanced eating and create a sense of well-being.

The world may feel chaotic, but it doesn’t have to be! To those around you, you have a successful and fulfilling life. You are happy, friendly, and reliable. You appear to have things under control. But on the inside, you don't feel good enough. In fact, you don’t even recognize yourself anymore. It is exhausting to give so much to everyone else and still feel like you are struggling to take care of yourself. Some days feel easier to tackle than others, yet you feel overwhelmed, stuck, and want so badly to feel the way you once felt. It's time to reframe your perspective.

As we navigate our lives, we are faced with life transitions. These changes can trigger anxiety, depression, or other feelings. Often transitions can challenge our existing belief systems, which in turn, cause confusion and feelings of distress. Having someone who can truly listen and understand these challenges often helps us find our way to a more satisfying life. Sorting through the clutter of our lives and zeroing in on our true selves can help us optimize our happiness and contentment. Soy terapeuta bilingüe, trabajo con personas, parejas y familias. Trabajo con depresión, ansiedad, trauma y relaciones.

Psychotherapy with me will be a guided, supportive exploration of how you think, feel, act and relate to others. I am a relational therapist: an approach to therapy which combines self-understanding and self-acceptance in relationship to your significant others, both past and present. We all need to be understood. This is my primary job with you: to understand how you think and feel. Once you feel understood, together we can figure out what is getting in the way of living a happier, more fulfilling life. I am an expressive therapist, and you will never go away from a session wondering what I think.

There are many reasons why you might be seeking help at this time, and it is an act of strength and bravery to take this step. Together we can work together to foster healthy coping, connect to your feelings, align the heart with the mind, create vision and clarity, and discover inherent confidence, wisdom and worthiness. If you find yourself struggling with having vision and clarity, grief and loss, have been engaging in unhealthy behaviors and are having difficulty making the changes you desire, or you or a loved one are struggling with a chronic illness, we can work together to address your needs.

As a psychotherapist, I work with individuals and couples addressing issues such as relationship stressors, self-esteem, stress management and self-awareness. Often, people think that being referred to or seeking MFT services means that there is something "wrong" with them, but this is not what marriage and family therapy is about. My approach looks at problems within a relational context, not as problems that lie within the person. I will explore risks and challenges, as well as strengths and resources, to assist individuals and families in managing the particular issues they are facing.

What type of mental health professional is right for me?
Some of the most common types of mental health providers in California are psychologists, licensed counselors, therapists, psychotherapists, and licensed clinical social workers, all of whom diagnose mental health conditions and provide individualized treatment.

Services offered, education and credentials vary by type of mental health professional. Each professional in California then may specialize in certain areas, such as depression, marriage counseling, or anxiety. Although many mental health providers are not licensed to prescribe medication, they may coordinate with a provider who can.

Both in-person and online therapy sessions are available from most psychologists.

How to find a specialist?
You can refine your search using the filters on this page. There are several categories you can filter by to find mental health professionals with the experience you are looking for. You may want to filter for CBT Psychologists in California, or Child Psychologists in California.

Many find it useful to use filters to view only psychologists that have experience working with certain issues, like California psychologists specializing in EMDR.

What method of therapy is right for me?
When it comes to treatment methods, there's no 'right way.’ Each method of therapy can be beneficial for a variety of issues. Psychologists in California specialize in therapeutic approaches such as CBT, EMDR, and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), among others. Finding a psychologist or therapist who is a good fit for you is the most important step to discovering what type of therapy, or combination of therapeutic approaches, will meet your individual needs. Learn what to expect from different types of therapy and how they work.

How to use my insurance?
Many therapists accept health insurance. Check to see if your insurance is covered. Feel free to discuss this when you contact the therapist.
