Some of these include Somatic work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, and Mindfulness approaches.
I take a holistic and integrative approach to therapy, blending western and eastern healing practices, evidence based approaches, and trauma informed care. I believe that you are the expert of your own life. I will collaborate with you, explore past experiences that have shaped who you are today, and figure out what's keeping you from living the life you want. This isn't always an easy process. It takes courage and hard work, but the rewards are great. I provide an environment that is curious, empathetic, supportive, and down to Earth. I'll help you discover your strengths and become more in-tune with your emotions. You can do this!

My clients heal from the deep wounds of trauma and loss that are at the root of their struggles through Psychodynamic Therapy and Somatic Experiencing.
Healing from trauma, reclaiming power, growing from struggle and learning to work WITH emotions rather than AGAINST them are the goals I strive to support my clients in achieving. I want to help my clients move beyond simply not feeling so depressed, anxious, angry or manic. I want to help them transcend their pain, feel like they are fulfilling their purpose in life, are able to truly love themselves and are cultivating relationships that feed their soul. Narrative Therapy teaches my clients to transform the meaning of what they have been through and techniques from Existential Therapy help clients create or discover their purpose.

I use Somatic , Attachment, Mindfulness based therapy, but am influenced by parts (IFS), Existential & Strength & Solution based styles.
You are doing the best you can. If you could snap your fingers and stop the obsessive thoughts and worries you would, right? If could make yourself quit retelling negatives stories about yourself and your life, stop feeling depressed, you would have already. The truth is life is as challenging as it is remarkable and respecting how trauma, stress, neglect, or illness are showing up in your body and experience is paramount to healing. Trauma can show up as patterns of protection that keep us stuck in feelings of anxiety, depression, anger, hopelessness, and fear. And keep us from enjoying secure and loving relationships with others.

If you would like to schedule a complimentary consultation and learn more about somatic therapy and therapeutic touch please feel free to contact me.
I help my clients explore not only their thoughts and emotions, but also the physical sensations, postures, and gestures that come with them. This is important because tuning into your body can help you understand your feelings, thoughts, and life experiences more deeply. This understanding can support you in being the person you want to be and creating the life you want to have. Our work together can include therapeutic touch which can be profoundly healing because it enables us to get to the root of the issue by connecting directly w/the body which is where our stress & trauma our stored.

For those interested, I incorporate somatic (mind-body) tools, which can include stretches, breathing exercises, and body awareness.
I work with individuals and couples, offering in person or video sessions and specializing in issues of depression, anxiety, and relationship. I believe that we all have the capacity to feel more alive, and achieve our creative potentials. An important part of fostering growth is building trust and safety in the therapeutic relationship, so I place a focus on this as a foundation for our work together. From there, I will support you in working toward goals that we co-create, and can help you to feel a sense of purpose, connection, and freedom in your life. How can I find a therapist in California?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
