I focus on couple's issues,
parenting
and child issues, men's issues, anxiety, depression, working with teenagers and family dynamics.
Many times people feel they don't have anyone who truly understands them or anyone to show them the compassion they need. I am passionate about providing both understanding and compassion to all of my clients. I really want to hear your own story, understand the dynamics of your specific relationships and help you reach your personal goals and dreams. I've loved and cherished my family relationships, both while growing up, and now with my wife and children. I strive to provide a safe environment to share highs and lows and hopes and fears with clients as they too pursue those cherished relationships.

I offer coaching in areas of self-care, frame development,
parenting
, dating, self-esteem, motivation, building success, overcoming hardships or grieving a lost relationship.
In therapy it’s sometimes said you must feel it- to heal it, and for couples this can be especially true. I can help you process difficult emotions together and come to a mutual understanding, grow closer as a couple, and improve communication. I can also work with you independently. For the individuals I work with, I promote improving emotional strength, independence, developing confidence, refining assertiveness, accepting responsibility and finding your direction. I can help you to take an objective look at the relationship dynamics you may be trying to navigate and see if solutions can be found that work for you.

I work with clients who find themselves in a place of stasis, often when some situation, whether it is grief triggered by loss, or anxiety and stress resulting from an involvement with high-conflict personalities, has impeded their ability to meet their goals. Many individuals feel stymied and frustrated by a feeling of being "stuck." For high-achievers, the ability to set and meet goals has become an ingrained expectation, and the feeling of something, or someone, interfering with their ability to
parent
, work, or enjoy life, can feel like an new and insurmountable predicament.

I've taught classes on
parenting
, relationships, stress and anger management since 2015.
It's normal to have problems. It's normal for relationships to have conflict. It's normal to feel nervous on occasion. It's normal to fall into a low mood now and then. But sometimes these normal things get out of hand. And sometimes you have to live through something that isn't normal, something unexpected. In times like that, it's useful to have somebody to talk to.

My passion is providing therapy to individuals and families to help them have greater joy in their life and relationships and to overcome painful feelings and life experiences. Have you ever felt a negative emotion for long periods of time? Anger, sadness, worry, fear, guilt, or shame? Have these feelings been combined with negative thoughts that play over and over in your mind, no matter how hard you try not to think about them? Did these thoughts and feelings begin after a life event or experience. Or, did they seem to come out of nowhere? Either way, if you are looking for support and relief I am here to help.

Life can feel really overwhelming, especially when the relationships that matter most to us are bringing us the greatest heartache. It doesn't have to be that way. I offer both therapeutic and coaching services to teach you strategies and skills that can help move your life and relationships in the direction you want to go. I can help you feel more confident in your ability to cope with life’s ups and downs; relate to yourself and others with more patience and compassion; and change negative, fearful, or destructive patterns that are getting in the way of the kind of life you want for yourself.

How can I find a therapist in California?
Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
