I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV) as well as those who are justice-system involved.
I work with those who feel stuck or overwhelmed by the weight of trauma, anxiety, depression, but still hold onto the hope that life can feel different. They may be struggling in their relationships, caught in unhelpful patterns, or feeling disconnected from themselves and others. What they want most is to feel calmer, more confident, and more in control of their lives. Ultimately, their goal is to move beyond surviving and into a place where they can truly thrive, and my role is to support them on that journey with compassionate care.

Together we’ll explore what life has asked you to bear with child trauma, addiction and domestic abuse.
In therapy with me you’ll feel heard, respected, and free to bring your whole self, your story, your fears, your hopes. We’ll map out what’s been working, what’s not, and create simple action steps that respect your pace and reflect your values. Think of therapy as a partnership where your voice matters and progress becomes something you can feel.

The majority of my experience has been helping people who struggle with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, abandonment and loneliness, grief / loss, and the challenges.
My approach tends to work within a Humanistic approach: Essentially, life is going to happen, but it is how we respond or react to a situation that can allow us to grow or hold us back. I also work within a Cognitive Behavioral approach: In order to change an action or behavior, we must change the thinking behind the action or behavior,

I specialize in couples therapy, trauma recovery, men’s accountability, and supporting women healing from abuse.
I help individuals and couples move beyond old patterns and create lasting change through narrative, relational, and trauma-informed therapy. Are you tired of therapy that only offers coping strategies without creating meaningful change? Have you ever felt frustrated with therapy that stops at validating your struggles instead of helping you move beyond them? Are you looking for something deeper—for transformation in your life and relationships, not just temporary relief from symptoms? If you’re ready for a different kind of therapy—one that invites clarity, change, and a renewed sense of direction—I’d be honored to meet with you.

Navigating life can be really challenging and my goal is to provide a warm, safe, judgement free, and collaborative environment to assist you navigate these challenges. In my work I recognize the importance of each individual’s intersecting identities such as race, gender identity, gender expression, culture of origin, immigration status, sexual orientation, primary language and disability. I specialize working with individuals experiencing stress, anxious feelings, grief/ loss, and with survivors of intimate partner violence, male and female.
Have you ever experienced stress about making a decision/transition? Perhaps you are experiencing this right now. Oftentimes, we experience stress when making decisions due to our past or the unknown. As a Latina, I recognize that talking about our thoughts and feelings is not always safe or welcomed. Connecting to mental health counseling is still stigmatized within our community. We are often told “no pasa nada”, this thinking leads us to suppress our feelings which contributes to added stress. However, if we do not let go of stress or process past trauma, how can we live our best life right now?

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with 20+ years of experience who specializes in helping families cope with divorce. I also treat trauma victims from the perspective of helping them put the trauma within the narrative of their life, and understanding its' impact. It's important to understand the blueprint that is laid down early in our lives, and how we continue to operate consciously and unconsciously off that blueprint. Cultural differences on many levels are very important to understand and address in therapy. I work with children as well as adults.

Domestic Abuse Therapists
What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?
Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?
Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?
Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?
It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
