Sessions with me are collaborative and integrative - we’ll get into nervous system regulation, inner parts work, and targeted modalities like EMDR or Brainspotting.
You appear like you have it all “together”, but deep down you’re struggling with an inner critic, lack of boundaries, and chronic anxiety or depression. You’re someone who cares deeply about the world, but you still struggle to prioritize yourself and constantly feel burned out. If you’re here, you’re tired of feeling this way. You’re ready to feel more regulated and connected. Most of all, you’re ready to feel like your self again and let go of ways of being that no longer serve you. I know that healing is possible, and it would be my honor to support you on your path.

I'm a board-certified neurologist with specialty training in pediatric neurology, and am also trained in Brainspotting and HeartMath.
Many of the common symptoms people experience are actually related to chronic stress or trauma. This is not recognized by most physicians, so patients are often prescribed multiple medications and referred to many subspecialists, without any real relief of their symptoms. I help patients identify if their symptoms are actually related to stress or trauma, and use brain-based and somatic-based therapies to treat headaches, chronic pain, digestive problems, sleep problems, dizziness, fainting, anxiety, panic attacks or unexplained neurological symptoms (visual changes, non-epileptic events or conversion disorder).

Welcome. I specialize in working with clients and or their family members who are dealing with health-related challenges such as cancer or HIV. After working in the outpatient clinic setting since 2008, I use somatic approaches such as the Internal Family Systems Model to empower you throughout your or your loved one's healthcare journey. Using Internal Family Systems therapy, among other trauma approaches, we will frame health care and other crises as repetitive traumas in order to empower you.

Are you in pain, struggling with recent events or old patterns and you can't seem to get a handle on things? And the things you are trying aren't producing the results you long for. Or you find yourself in a transition and need some support. Maybe you are a Christian and want to explore your hopes and life issues with someone who has biblical training and can support you in your journey. What if instead of turmoil and confusion, you could feel lighter, a calm confidence, and a new sense of peace and freedom? It is possible and I can help.

“Be yourself! Everyone else is already taken…” – Oscar Wilde. Being yourself is often easier said than done. As a trauma therapist, I see how easy it is for negative experiences to hinder our ability to be the people we want to be and create a life we want to live. Our bodies and minds are amazingly adaptable—we manage to find ways to survive horrible life events—but these survival instincts were meant to be used on a short-term basis. Traumas—big or small—are stored in the body and affects our ability to connect with others, to trust, and to feel safe in the world. The good news is, healing is possible!

I work with individuals living with complex PTSD and trauma—those whose ability to fully inhabit their lives has been constrained by overwhelming experiences. Many seek not only symptom relief, but a deeper reconnection with their bodies, inner experience, and authentic self, often sensing a shift from “doing” toward “being.” I am a clinical psychologist in Japan with nearly three decades of experience since 1996, working both in Japan and internationally. My approach is body-based, culturally attuned, and informed by contemporary neuroscience and trauma research, supporting deep and lasting transformation.

Brainspotting, our most effective tool, offers deep, quick, and permanent results.
Our Center helps anyone suffering from unresolved trauma or disturbing experiences. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, panic attacks, insomnia, hyper-vigilance, restlessness, rage, exhaustion, fatigue, or dissociation. We exist to alleviate the profound suffering of those who have been traumatized in childhood or adulthood. Trauma is often not healed from talk therapy alone. We use cutting edge trauma modalities that access your primitive brain where trauma is stored. Through this, you will release the trauma and all of the physical issues that go along with it, and graduate with a freedom you have never known.

Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad, or angry? Is your relationship or divorce becoming too much to handle? Is your mind trying to figure 'it' out or repeating memories? Do you feel stuck? I bet I have your solution! For many of my clients, they can't move past it because their brains are reacting to a body response. They are stuck in a loop between the two. This is why you try and try, but nothing changes. You might have been praying, attending Bible Study, worshiping, etc., and found that they are not enough. While these elements are important in healing you need to understand how the brain and body talk to each other.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
