I have been practicing therapy over seven years working with adults and adolescents in individual therapy, specializing in treatment of general anxiety, men’s issues, social anxiety, relationship anxiety, self-esteem, identity formation, assertiveness, and depressive disorders in addition to trauma, shame, grief, and Borderline Personality Disorder.
My philosophy in therapy is to believe every emotion and be curious about every thought. I take this job very seriously but I am seldom a serious person; therapy can be an enjoyable experience and simultaneously life-enriching if you are willing to do the work. My therapeutic style is direct and compassionate, jargon-free and analogy-strong, often using humor and irreverence when appropriate in session. I strive to create authentic relationships with my clients where pretentious jargon-speak is left at the door. Authenticity is my most important value as a clinician - I am the same human both inside and outside of the office…

I specialize in working with individuals who are going through emotional difficulties such as depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship/familial difficulties, stress, grief, and life transitions.
My therapeutic approach incorporates a biopsychosocial perspective and psychodynamic theory; by integrating both models, we can examine external (biology, psychology, environment) and internal (unconscious thoughts/behaviors) factors that will lead to creating change and resiliency.

Are you or your child struggling with anxiety, depression, or behavioral issues?
My methods are based on a foundation of human behavior and family systems that address issues of trauma, culture, cycles of violence, substance use, co-occurring disorders and addiction within family systems. For those struggling with trauma, I use EMDR therapy, which helps to release negative cognitions and trauma responses, allowing for faster healing.

I've worked with clients from the ages of 6 years old to 60 years old on a variety of conditions, including anxiety, autism, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.
I began working in mental health 23 years ago and have worked in community-based therapy, lockdown facilities, in-home therapy, and different schools. I have found over time that the most rewarding factor of doing this work is giving people comfort and support, not only solutions. No matter what type of therapy the client prefers, the environment is based individually on the client. I do not press the pace of the session. Normally, there's a check, but other than that, it depends on the pace the client feels comfortable with for that session.

I work with individuals struggling with various issues, including anxiety and depression, relationship issues, eating disorders and trauma.
Contrary to popular belief, therapy is not a “safe space.” Of course, my goal is to help you feel safe, seen and heard as you embark on your healing process, but it may very likely not feel natural to relax into a space as you share the deepest and most hidden parts of yourself. Every person has a unique footprint because of the events that have occurred in their life. In our work together, my goal is to foster a healing space to learn how those events have shaped you, and to find the path on which to walk that is best for you. True healing in therapy comes from a place of being fully transparent with who we are, and without shame.
