I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with 20 years experience providing short-term insight-oriented therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and schema therapy. I completed my Ph.D. at Adelphi University and my internship and post-doctorate degrees at Harvard Medical School/Mass General Hospital. Currently, I am an associate professor of psychology at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. I am paneled with BCBS. I use a time-limited treatment approach, that involves an assessment phase, where we characterize underlying challenges and a treatment phase where we build skills to better manage them.
My training focused on mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and ADHD. I specialize in emotion regulation, interpersonal functioning, and altering core beliefs. I use personality assessments to identify strengths to leverage for pursuing goals and improving relationships and to monitor response to treatment over time.
My approach is person-centered and time-limited. The first session uses a clinical interview and self-report measures assessing symptoms, relational style, & personality traits. A clinical focus is developed collaboratively with clients within 4 sessions. Therapy then focuses on agreed-upon goals. Typically, the treatment phase will last between 4-7 months.
