I believe that counseling can be a space for individuals to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors for self-reflection and self-growth. A place where individuals can safely process their life experiences while also gaining a better understanding of why they may have certain thought processes and behaviors. I have experience working with clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, self-harm, suicidal ideations, substance use, and different life changes.
I currently focus on Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches. CBT has great interventions and techniques that can help with a myriad of diagnoses including but not limited to depression, anxiety, substance use, personality disorders, bipolar disorders, PTSD, and eating disorders.
I believe that my purpose as a counselor is to create an environment that is full of empathy and lack of judgment in order to be vulnerable and learn more about yourself in order to gain a different perspective and find positive outcomes to your concerns. I enjoy working with people and helping open up different possibilities and not feeling stuck.
