I offer in-person therapy in my Napa office as well as video tele-therapy through a secure and HIPAA-compliant application.
My entire therapeutic approach is based around your needs, your experiences, and your strengths. I won't assume I understand your situation. Instead, I will listen and get to know your unique experience. I won't dictate answers or determine your path. But I will be honest with you about what I see, and I'm not afraid to tell you when something isn't working. While I take pride in my education and experience, I am most proud of my ability to engage my clients, help them to feel comfortable, and earn their trust.

I am currently offering sessions both in-person (required for children/teens) or telehealth on Tue 8:30-4p, Wed 8:30-5p, and Thur 8:30-5p.
Regardless of your gender, ethnicity, socio-economic status, etc... the roots from which your psyche forms all start in the same place. Every single human being's development starts within the sacred space of the attachment relationship between themselves and their primary caregiver. This attachment relationship is where we first develop our sense of safety and trust within the world, our relationships, and ourselves. The rest of life and its experiences are simply branches on the tree. My first step is always safety and trust, the rest is the neuroscience of processing, integration, and the evolution of the self.

I value supporting people who want to live more authentically across all areas of their lives. With compassion, I help clients gently explore and challenge patterns that may be keeping them stuck, creating space for meaningful growth and change. I work with both individuals and couples to deepen their understanding of boundaries and to build clearer, more confident communication. My approach is informed by EMDR and IFS Parts Work. EMDR is a well-researched modality that helps process trauma, shift long-held negative beliefs, and reduce the impact of distressing life experiences.

We are all learning to become human; no easy task. As anxiety has become the new normal, it can be challenging to live in a human body and experience all the intensity; sometimes we need some extra support.  Somatic therapy works with befriending your body in its wholeness (mind, body, spirit). I support you in tracking ALIVENESS & empower in your full expression.  Along the way, I teach skills that strengthen your capacity to work with difficult emotions, the inner critic, & habitual impulses while staying connected to the present moment.

Available in person (San Rafael; easy parking and access to 101) and online throughout California.
I work with individuals and couples in California who are looking to reduce conflict, strengthen relationships, and prepare for pregnancy and postpartum. Many who find me feel both overstimulated and isolated (I see you, parents and teachers). Many are already "doing the work," on their own in some way, but keep falling back into old loops and struggle to feel heard. I'm here to anchor you to right now. We work with what's available today to build resiliency, communicate more effectively, reparent (often while parenting), and feel like yourself again. With consistent support and someone to trust, you can catch your breath.

I am currently accepting new clients. If you're feeling stuck in the same patterns, overwhelmed by your own thoughts, or unsure how to move forward, you're in the right place. I work with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and ongoing life stress. A lot of the people I see are looking for clarity, relief, and practical ways to handle what they're going through. Together we'll break things down so they actually make sense and build skills you can use in real life, not just in session, so you leave with a clearer path forward that fits what matters to you.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
