Accept many out of network insureds.
I have had success treating the middle aged female, 40-60, with relational, launching, re-entry and life change issues. I also integrate biofeedback of various types into the treatment program in order to either avoid or minimize medication interventions, when appropriate. I search diligently the patient's medical history and symptoms, and work with local medical providers, to rule out general medical conditons that may be driving psychological symptoms, e.g. hypothyroid and depression, or adrenal issues and anxiety or depression. Anxiety can be treated with biofeedback interventions and I provide in-office treatment and take home devices.

I do not take insurance, but I do offer out of network benefits.
Do you have ADHD or Autism? My clients are self-identified or previously assessed to be neurodivergent (mostly Autistic and/or ADHD) adolescents and adults, often finding themselves struggling with problems with executive functioning, anxiety, or poor self-esteem. I am a neurodivergent-affirming psychologist and place a strong emphasis on helping people love themselves. Many of my clients have dealt with a history of invalidation, a lack of proper support, or are seeking specialized help. Often I have worked with neurodivergent people who have seen therapists or psychologists that have been unable to help them find wellness.

REMINDER- I am Out of Network but offer a concierge service for PPO insurance plans.
My passion is in body psychotherapy. Clients enjoy our work connecting their body/inner strengths and their mind/rational strengths to achieve growth. My clients value the kindness, compassion, and safety I create, so they feel comfortable and heard. I have success working with clients that experience cancer, adoption, grief, stress, excessive worry, depression, conflict with others, life transitions, and parenting issues. Caregivers and family members of cancer patients find working with me helpful, healing, and nurturing. Clients that are not comfortable just talking really appreciate the tools I give them.

My goal as a psychotherapist is to provide you with a genuine, warm, caring experience where your thoughts and feelings can be held and mended over time. Sharing the negatives of one's life and self can be such a debilitating experience. Whether you just need a listening ear or a more directive approach, I am honored to be a witness and participant in whatever modality you feel works for you. Working with adults and children over the years has changed my belief of pain and trauma. If you are ready to take that leap and trust in me, I would be honored to accompany your healing journey.

I love being able to do the work that I do. I feel so fortunate to be able to help people in meeting their goals and building skills for coping with various life stressors. I feel that I have strengths in quickly connecting and helping people to feel comfortable with therapy, which can be uncomfortable at first. I always adapt treatments for what individuals need, and never uses a "one size fits all" philosophy. Each person has specific strengths and needs. Let's partner together to help you in meeting your needs.

Life is full of challenges, and most of the time we are capable of handling them on our own. However, sometimes things can get too overwhelming and stressful, and we need help. As a licensed therapist for over 20 years, I understand the anxiety, hope, and fear that go with seeking therapy.

You're sitting in your car in the parking lot at work, trying to hold it together. A moment ago, you were in the office, going about your business, doing fine. Then the panic hit. A momentary flash of traumatic memory, and you're right back where you were. Your heart pounds furiously, you perspire, your throat constricts and chest tightens as you struggle to breathe. At least you were able to excuse yourself before anyone noticed your distress. So now you're sitting here, hiding in a parked car, wondering if this is just how your life will be from now on. Will I ever be free of my painful past? It feels hopeless.

Reaching out for help can feel like a matter of life and death. You might delay the call, hoping that whatever is wrong will go away. Unfortunately, profound suffering usually can’t be wished away. It needs to be confronted directly. Though perhaps not obvious, suffering internally or in your relationships may be an expression of unresolved childhood wounds. Now is the time to heal those wounds and reclaim your authentic self.

How can I find a therapist in Westlake Village?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the United States, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
