The interface between contemporary psychology and the wisdom of contemplative practice spirituality is central to my work with individuals and couples and to my general approach to therapy. With the use of MINDFULNESS based therapy and a non-judgmental and non-pathological approach I create a healing and supportive environment were growth and transformation can take place through our in depth process of exploration. From this general holistic and contemplative perspective I address a variety of issues of emotional, existential and relational nature with both individuals and couples and would be very happy to help you as well!

I also have training in EMDR, Mindfulness , Psychodynamic, Strength Based and Solution Focused therapies.
Anxiety, depression, and extreme "people pleasing" are all things that can stand in the way of healthy, balanced relationships. Often these things trigger each other in a seemingly a never ending cycle making it a struggle to have deeper connections with people. With my help you can break out of the cycle and build healthy, balanced, long term relationships. In the process you will also learn skills to combat anxiety and depression, develop and maintain boundaries, while at the same time increasing self-esteem and confidence.

Along with the traditional therapeutic methods, I like to bring in real, practical, and life-changing (yes, it’s true) alternative modalities to help alleviate anxiety and overwhelm: Tapping/EFT, tarot, mindfulness , and meditation to name a few.
The clients I work with are tired of feeling numb, overwhelmed, and distracted. They are beginning to question their lifetime of people-pleasing, self-sabotaging, anxiety-related tendencies. And they are looking to experience major shifts in their thinking and major aha moments of discovering themselves. They want to live a full life where they are the one who gets to have the job they love, the relationships that are authentic, and the dreams that are reality.

I use a holistic approach that brings in parts work, EMDR, mindfulness strategies, and other integrative techniques to help my clients examine and release belief systems, experiences, and traumas that are impacting them.
We all come with different stories, identities, backgrounds, cultures, and representations of our experiences which make up who we are and how we relate to the people and world around us. Therapy is an opportunity to examine, understand, and process these parts in order to find our place in the world, establish healthy relationships, and feel a sense of joy and satisfaction in life. I am passionate about supporting adults and teens through life transitions, relationship issues, anxiety or stress related issues, processing traumas, and navigating existential or spiritual processes.

By using guided imagery, doing guided inner work using Internal Family Systems Therapy, and practicing mindfulness techniques (ACT) this process can unfold safely and gently.
I help adults and couples with relationship and codependency issues, grief and loss, depression, anxiety and addictive patterns with self and others. I help you to create a relationship with yourself and others based on respect, caring and trust. This helps build the feeling of safety that lies at the core of any successful therapy. My goal is to support you in finding and strengthening your own inner voice. When we learn to free ourselves from old, stuck patterns of relating (in mind and body), we often feel a lightness of being that allows us to experience more joy in our everyday lives.

I practice Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy.
At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that may have minimized your self-esteem. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be. I hold a container of acceptance in the therapy room, while searching for its meaning and resolution.

I specialize in relational work through expressive arts and somatic therapies (including Hakomi) with a hint of Buddhist psychology and mindfulness .
Are you feeling stuck? Do you feel like instead of a spiral you are travelling in an endless circle of sadness, fear, arguments, grief, or simply confusion? Sometimes life get's hard and sometimes we get stuck. Therapy is here to help in these moments-- through gentle exploration of your thoughts, feelings, and actions we can work to uncover the places where you are feeling trapped in order to help you create new thoughts, healthier feelings, and actions more in alignment with the person you want to be: whether it be happier, more peaceful, more successful, more calm.

Using mindfulness techniques and nurturing self-care, we’ll discover your life's passion and uncover the very best version of you.
It’s early in the morning, and your eyes pop open to the sound of a blaring alarm clock. Groaning, you hit the snooze button as you start dreading the grueling day ahead. Lying in bed, you scroll through your phone, looking for the motivation to get you through this day. Instead, you're met with images of women with perfect bodies and perfect lives. You can’t help but compare yourself to them. A voice says, “that’ll never be you; it can't be.” You try to dismiss it, but the voice in your head gets louder. You can’t shake the feeling that you don’t deserve happiness or success in your life. You feel lost and defeated.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists

How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
