Waitlist for new clients
I offer in-person sessions in downtown Walnut Creek and online therapy across California.
You're doing your best to hold it all together, but inside, it's a different story. Maybe anxiety is keeping you up at night, or the stress just doesn't let up. Perhaps you're carrying the weight of chronic pain, health challenges, or difficult past experiences that make everyday life feel harder than it should. For teens, it may be pressure from school, friendships, or expectations that are hard to manage alone. If any of this sounds familiar, you're not alone — and you don't have to figure it out on your own.

Sometimes it may feel like no one truly understands what you are going through. Maybe you feel like you are stuck in a revolving door of thoughts, feelings or actions that continually block you from getting where you want to go. Maybe the stresses and realities of our current world leave you feeling eroded and hopeless. You may have tried therapy, but still don’t feel like you have all the tools you need to handle the stresses of daily life. Are you tired of feeling powerless to lead the kind of life you envision for yourself?

You’re doing well on the outside, but something still feels stuck. You understand your patterns—anxiety, perfectionism, relationship strain—but when it’s time to change them, something inside holds you back. I work with thoughtful adults, couples, and families—including children and teens—who are open to understanding these inner dynamics and engaging in a steady, supported process. This isn’t about quick fixes, but creating lasting change by working with the parts of you that feel stuck so you can feel clearer, more connected, and move forward at a sustainable pace.

I offer options to meet in person, telehealth or even walk'n talks, depending on their changing needs.
You’re capable and self-aware, but still feeling stuck in cycles of stress, pressure, or burnout you can’t seem to shift. You may understand why you do what you do, but insight alone hasn’t created the shift you’re looking for. I help clients move beyond awareness into lasting change by working directly with the patterns that show up in real time. It’s an active, collaborative process best suited for those who value personal growth, accountability, and are ready to engage in meaningful change.

Reaching out for support isn’t easy, it takes courage, especially when you're already feeling worn down. But the fact that you're here means something inside you is ready for change. Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or unsure of yourself. Maybe you're carrying pain from trauma, anxiety, or relationship struggles. I want you to know you're not alone. In the work we do together, we can begin to gently reconnect with the parts of you that feel lost or hidden. With time, you can start to feel more like yourself again, more at ease, more whole, and more able to move through life with clarity, strength, and peace.

Psychotherapy works when you're supported by a trained trusted professional. I may be that person for you. Is it time to dig deeper and seek support needed to help you find more joy, more self respect? We all have stress and doubts in our self. Some of us have trouble handling that stress. I will work with you through nonjudgmental support and understanding, to help you better understand who you are, how you got there, and whether a few changes to your thinking and behavior might help you find the joy you are missing, improve your relationships and to better manage your stress, while learning how to show up for yourself.

My work with preteens, teens, families and individual adults is both nurturing and direct. I use a relational, strengths-based, and systemic lens. I strongly believe that the relationship we build together is of fundamental importance to the healing process and that therapy is most effective when I create conditions that allow you to bring your full self into the space. I will tailor our work together to address your particular presenting challenges, taking into account your personal history, sociocultural, your many strengths, and the immense expertise you bring about your own life.

My ideal client is someone who is doing their best to hold it all together—navigating the complexities of life, relationships, parenting, or personal growth—but feels stuck, overwhelmed, or misaligned with the person they want to be. They may be experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression, struggling with conflict in their family or partnership, or feeling disconnected from their deeper sense of purpose. They’re curious, reflective, and willing to try something different, even if it feels uncomfortable at first. They may not know what it looks like to live in alignment with their values, but they’re eager to find out.

I have over 25 years experience and have worked with clients ranging from toddler- geriatric. Most of my career was in hospitals and corrections. I have also worked in Equine assisted therapy. I meet my clients as they choose. Whether telehealth, a walk in the park , or a coffee shop, I'm open As I do not currently have a brick and mortar office, we can discuss our options. I work for you. Experience has shown me that we humans make better choices when coming from a position of strength. In other words, unpacking our trauma can be gradual as we simultaneously embrace our fortitude . Therapy is a journey of self.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
