I primarily work with first responders, active-duty military personnel, and individuals with prior military service. These professions often involve repeated exposure to stress, uncertainty, trauma, and significant personal sacrifice, which can affect well-being, relationships, and life outside of work. For veterans, this may also involve difficulty transitioning out of the military and adjusting to life beyond service. My goal is to help clients navigate these challenges while also building lives that feel meaningful, fulfilling, and aligned with what matters most to them.

Life is full of uncertainty and challenges and sometimes our usual coping, resources, and knowledge are not enough to help manage these situations. We might notice an increase in worry, distress, sadness, grief, or relational conflict that appear to have no resolution. Sometimes we experience abrupt and traumatic situations that leave us feeling unsafe, disoriented, and confused by our emotional and physiological responses. Any of these experiences can be overwhelming, but a supportive therapeutic relationship combined with empirically based treatments can be helpful in managing the situations and finding resolutions.

Hi there, I'm Sheilly! Starting therapy is not for the faint of hearts. It takes a lot of courage! I have been blessed to do this work for the last 20 years and have seen so many people change their lives for the better. My expertise lies in working with PTSD and sleep disorders. My approach to therapy is very straightforward. I don't believe in lingering treatment, as my focus tends to be symptom reduction. I am trained in CBT for anxiety and depression, Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, ACT, and CBT-Insomnia.

Over the past two decades, I have predominantly worked with trauma survivors (combat and or non combat), chronic mental illness, victims of crimes, domestic violence, and sexual assault. I have worked on the front lines and one of my passions is to support our first responders who are serving our community diligently 24/7. Depth psychology often includes a “mutual journey into the underworld.” The benefit of this journey is that we can learn to experience the darkness as well as the light, simultaneously, and by doing so enjoy a more peaceful life in the midst of ongoing challenges and opportunities.
