Are you wanting to reach out for help, but keep telling yourself you ‘should’ be able to solve everything on your own? Are you pressuring yourself to muscle your way out of depression or anxiety? Then why would we each be sharing Earth with more than 7 BILLION other people if we are supposed to handle everything all by ourselves? I believe it is because we ARE meant to help each other! Since graduating in 1986 with a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and then earning my license as a MFT in 1990, I count myself lucky to have worked with the many adults, children, teens, families and couples whose paths have crossed mine.

I help adults who feel like they have never belonged find the relationships they have been craving. For those who feel like their unique identities make it hard to fit into community: you aren't too special to be alone And I mean that in a radical, collectivist way. You deserve to feel loved whether you struggle with relationship OCD, cultural or gender dysphoria, LGBTQ+ community drama, non-monogamy isolation, chronic illness, or just straight-up trauma from being told you are too much of a burden to deserve love. Together, we’ll help you find your voice, build relationships where you feel seen, and ask for what you need.

I also work with couples navigating neurodivergence (including mixed neurotypes), who feel stuck in cycles of miscommunication, disconnection, or hurt.
You’ve spent a long time learning how to take up less space. Reading the room. Adjusting your tone. Shrinking parts of yourself just to stay safe, accepted, or understood. And now something in you is tired of that. I work with women who are carrying the weight of complex trauma, especially the kind that doesn’t always get named. The microaggressions. The quiet invalidations. The pressure to be “easy,” “strong,” or “grateful” in spaces that don’t always feel safe to fully exist in. If you’ve ever felt like you had to choose between being accepted and being yourself… I see you. I’ve lived that too.

Many clients are thoughtful, capable, and self-aware, yet feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Common concerns include trauma, ADHD, burnout, relationship conflict, grief, and major life transitions. Often, there is a desire for clarity and relief without oversimplifying experiences or forcing premature solutions. The goal is not self-correction, but understanding—making sense of how current patterns formed and deciding what kinds of change are worth the cost.

Sometimes it takes a point-of-view outside your circle to see things differently, more clearly, or with different ideas of how to make change happen. My clients come in seeking guidance on how to do life better - how to communicate, or how to understand their value & purpose in the world or just at home. New insight, new tools, support & encouragement can make all the difference when you take the necessary step to care for yourself and ultimately, give your relationships the very best you.

I have 8 years of experience working with diverse populations with a multitude of different challenges; some of which include intergenerational trauma, substance abuse, relationship conflict, neurodiverse conditions, LGBTQIA2s+ challenges, and BIPOC folx.
Life provides happiness as well as its share of challenges. I believe individuals and couples are capable of navigating life but sometimes need a little extra help and compassion throughout the process. Therapy can be that place where a person can discuss, learn and work through any past or present challenges that may be getting in the way of living a happy and hopeful life.

To start, I am an Internal Family Systems Therapist and most clients I see are looking for IFS therapy. If you landed here and don't know the IFS model, read below. Do you feel misunderstood, or like no one really sees you? Are you struggling with some relationships that feel heavy? I’d be honored to see you, to truly hear you, and to gently guide you toward more freedom.

FAQ - Neurodivergent Counselling
What does neurodivergent mean?
Neurodivergent is a broad term used to describe people whose brains process, learn, or respond to information in ways that differ from what is considered “typical.” Neurodivergence can include autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, Tourette syndrome, and other forms of neurological difference. The term comes from the idea of neurodiversity, which recognizes that differences in brain function are a natural part of human variation. Rather than viewing neurodivergence only through the lens of neurological disorders, this perspective acknowledges that neurodivergent people may experience both strengths and challenges. For example, a person may be very creative and intelligent, while also needing support with sensory sensitivity or learning differences.

What issues do neurodivergent people commonly bring to therapy?
Neurodivergent people often seek therapy for many of the same reasons as anyone else, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, or major life transitions. They may also want support with challenges specifically related to neurodivergence; for example, therapy may help with executive functioning, social communication, sensory sensitivity, school/learning stress, or the experience of feeling misunderstood in society. Therapists can also help individuals and families diagnose conditions, as well as distinguish regular challenges associated with childhood and/or adolescence from more enduring conditions. When needed, a therapist may also provide referrals to additional specialists, such as occupational therapists or psychiatrists who can prescribe psychiatric medication.

What therapeutic approaches work well for neurodivergent clients?
Therapy for neurodivergent clients is often most helpful when it is flexible and affirming. Rather than expecting every client to fit one standard model of therapy, neurodivergent-affirming therapists may adapt sessions to each person’s needs and therapy goals. Often, this includes visual aids, movement breaks, or other therapy supports. Common structured therapeutic approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can be useful for some neurodivergent clients, but the approach may need to be modified to avoid feeling overly rigid or focused on changing traits that are part of a person’s natural neurodivergence. Other approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based approaches, may also be helpful depending on the client’s needs.

Who is included in Psychology Today's directory of neurodivergent therapists?
Psychology Today’s directory of neurodivergent therapists includes professionals who self-identify as neurodivergent, as well as therapists who describe their work as neurodivergent-affirming or who specialize in areas such as ADHD, autism, learning differences, or sensory processing concerns. When reviewing a therapist’s profile, look at their bio, listed specialties, treatment approach, and experience working with neurodivergent clients. You may also want to consider whether they offer supports that matter to you, such as online therapy, accessible office space, or familiarity with specific concerns like anxiety, depression, or trauma.
