I have experience in trauma, anxiety, grief/loss, addiction, anger management and life transitions.
I believe life is not about the destination but about the journey. Sometimes we run into rough spots along the way. Let me walk beside you for a while until you get past the rough spots and are able to continue on your own. Counseling is a process that you control by telling me what you want to accomplish and then we work together to get there.

My passion is working with individuals, who are dealing with trauma, anxiety, sexual concerns, and overall stress.
We’re taught that mental health is about decreasing negative symptoms. We’re “supposed” to be less anxious, less depressed, and less overwhelmed. While that is one part of healing, what’s more important is how you want to feel and what you want to achieve. What would life be like if you could live each day without being held back? What’s the real purpose that you have yet to discover or embrace? I’m here not just to help you heal but to guide you on a journey of self-actualization. Together, we’ll explore the past, heal in the present, and create a plan for the future.

My specialty and greatest love is helping individuals who have experienced trauma, and those with anxiety and depression.
Seeking help is never a sign of weakness, but what can really make a difference is who you seek the help from. Helping others is not just a job for me, but a passion. I believe that we can all live happier and healthier lives once we remove the barriers that stand in the way. This is where having a good therapist can make the world of difference.

I love to work with neurodivergent young adults who are struggling with setting boundaries, anxiety, trauma, and ADHD.
I love to get into the science of mental health, so I love to teach the "why" in sessions. I use metaphors and visuals to make things clear. I also use techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy to help my clients meet their goals.

Making the decision to call a therapist is scary for most of us. It is usually at a time when we feel vulnerable or things have reached a crisis point. I can help give you objective feedback so that you can understand and make sense of your thoughts and feelings. In therapy you will learn new coping skills that you can use, not just in this incident, but in future ones. You don't have to be alone as you try and figure things out. I believe I can help.

I specialize in helping survivors of trauma to heal their body and brain using effective, science-backed therapies.
Are you falling apart behind the scenes? You might go at 100 miles an hour at work or school, but then find yourself completely burnt out and turning to scrolling, smoking, or zoning out to feel better. Perhaps your relationship with your family is rocky (at best). You may be feeling disconnected and moody, sometimes for no reason. And even though you’re trying to stay calm and be rational, you keep getting caught up with feelings of anger, anxiety, and shame. Maybe you've gotten really good at taking care of everyone else, but you haven't quite figured out how to take care of you. You're in the right place. :)

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
