I am a therapist at Inner Peace Therapy in Upland, CA. I am currently accepting new clients. I enjoy working with teens, adults and couples . I have a particular interest in helping those experiencing anxiety, depression, marital/ relationship problems, and those wanting to improve their self-confidence and self-esteem. I believe that through our childhood experiences, societal expectations, and a multitude of external influences, we are often shaped to live a life that is meeting expectations of others and is not satisfying our true desires. I am passionate about helping people live a life that is aligned with your own value system.

In the current climate of uncertainty, many of us are feeling unusually anxious. Many people struggle with feelings of unresolved hurt, depression and anger at one time or another. As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I am here to help you find healing, restoration, and well being. I encourage my clients in setting boundaries, making healthy choices, and care for themselves.

I have found the number one concern for people is, "Do you work with my issues?" I specialize in Depression, Anxiety, Relationship /Marital Issues, Miscarriage, Grief & Loss.
Vulnerability researcher and storyteller Brené Brown stated once that authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we are supposed to be, and instead, embracing who we are. Do you feel insecure, lost, or helpless? Do you ever feel immense pressure to be someone that you are not? Do you feel depressed or anxious about life’s journey or had a loss? Do you find yourself dwelling on the past or the future, preventing you from truly living a joyous life? Have you experienced trauma or loss and are struggling to move forward? I will help you understand yourself better so you can live a peaceful and happier life.

My wife and I do 'Radical Progressive Conjoint Couples Counseling '.
People select me as a therapist due to my non-judgmental demeanor and 30+ years of experience. I believe it is important to be professional yet not clinically stuffy, humble yet confident and knowledgeable yet still teachable. I love life and people. The mistakes I've made have been my greatest teachers. Nobody's perfect. We all have problems....but we all have room for growth & improvement. It's a crazy world. The goals of being able to keep our feet firmly planted on the ground, in order to fulfill one's responsibilities in life, yet keep one 's 'hand in the sky', in order to experience joy are pragmatic, realistic and attainable.

Please consider a free consultation if you believe you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, loss and grief, personal trauma, post-traumatic stress, anger management, relationship issues, separation or divorce, self-esteem, parent effectiveness, or personal transitions, e.
To paraphrase a Greek philosopher, the only thing constant is change; in fact, life is full of changes and challenges. When feeling confident and strong, we can usually adapt fairly well to stresses and obstacles. It's different, though, when unpleasant emotions or complex issues seem to drain practically all the energy we can muster just to get through the day. Feeling overly confused or frustrated, maybe even lost or helpless, might mean it's time to reach out to someone who can help us identify, work through, and manage whatever is getting in the way of our happiness and peace of mind. I could be just that person for you.

I am passionate with helping families, individuals, couples and children find peace and stability and I understand that no one person or problem is the same.
Ever been told “I know what you’re feeling”, yet still felt completely misunderstood? What about freedom. Do you have a desire for emotional freedom from your past, from current stressors, or perhaps from a new phase of life? It’s understandable to feel overwhelmed or down from time to time but it doesn’t have to be a permanent feeling.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
